Back to the Moon, Back to the Future

Description
In 2004, President Bush called for a return to the Moon as part of his “Vision for Space Exploration.” NASA is developing a new generation of rockets to deliver much more mass to the lunar surface than during Apollo. NASA plans to establish a permanent lunar outpost to explore the Moon, to understand the origin of the Moon, and to use the Moon as a platform for telescopes to study the broader cosmos. In this planetarium show, we will show what a return to the Moon may be like with the new Ares rockets and what astronomy can be accomplished particularly with a low frequency radio telescope on the lunar farside.
